The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a fatal traffic crash which occurred Sunday at approximately 3:55pm on South East Street north of Muntz Street in the City of Hillsboro in Highland County.
A car was traveling northbound on South East Street in Hillsboro, being operated by 40-year-old Allen Landess of Hillsboro, when his vehicle struck a child that had entered the street in a toy car.
The juvenile was transported to Highland District Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The child's name has not been released.
Paint Creek Fire and EMS and the Hillsboro Police Department also responded to the scene.
