Hillsboro Girls Defeat Clinton Massie

.

The Hillsboro Lady Indians, fresh off a win over Paint Valley, won their second straight with a Saturday matinee win over the Clinton Massie Lady Falcons.  Hillsboro, looking to get off to a good start, did just that by grabbing a 10-6 lead after the first quarter. However, it was a 10-0 run in the second period that spurred the Indians to the non-conference victory by the final score of 45-26.

.

HHS, with offensive struggles this season, was able to achieve a level of consistency in scoring that has been relatively absent to date: the Indians scored 10, 10, 15, and 10 throughout the four stanzas. Hillsboro was led by Gracie Dean and Josie Hopkins, who both contributed 10 points. In addition, it was the defense, rebounding, and overall energy displayed by Hopkins that led to her being named the "player of the game.

.

While the added offense was welcomed, Coach J.R. Moberly was also pleased with his team's defensive effort- they held the visiting Falcons to a 15.7% shooting from the field!

.

With the modest 2 game winning streak in hand, the Lady Indians will travel to Goshen on Monday night . That will be followed by another road game on Wednesday night- a game that will be broadcast on WSRW 101.5FM and on our free iHeart Radio app..
