Highland Health Commissioner Discusses Ohio Business Restart

Highland County is looking ahead to what they expect to see with the slow restart of non-essential businesses this Friday and into the next couple of weeks, after being closed for almost 6 weeks due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Highland County Health Commissioner Jared Warner says he believes the county is ready to proceed with Phase One, but believes Highland and other rural counties in the post shutdown period, will look much different than what is seen in much larger metropolitan areas.

The business restart announced by the governor on Monday is expecting counties to stay within the same guidelines to ensure that residents are not crossing into other counties to simply gain services they are not permitted to receive in their own jurisdiction, due to COVID-19 Stay At Home order, which still applies other than to gain access to what Phase One is permitting them to do.
