Disorderly Driver Arrested by WCH Police

A man is facing multiple charges after being arrested by Washington Court House Police during a traffic stop, Saturday morning.

While on patrol, a police officer stopped a vehicle in the 500 block of Rawling Street, for a traffic violation. The vehicle was being driven by Joshua Ballard, who was advised of the reason for the stop. The officer detected an odor of marijuana and alcohol coming from inside the vehicle along with seeing the presence of open containers of alcohol in the cup holders.

Ballard was removed from the vehicle, where he became combative with the police officers while trying to instigate an altercation. Ballard was arrested for obstructing official business and disorderly conduct. Upon further investigation, officers discovered a court ordered protection order that prevented Ballard from being around Carrie Taulbee, who was a passenger in his vehicle. Ballard continued his disorderly behavior while threatening an officer.

Ballard was charged with Failing to Observe a Stop Sign, OVI, Disorderly Conduct, Obstructing Official Business, Violating a Protection Order, Menacing and Open Container in a Vehicle. Taulbee was cited for Open Container in a Vehicle and Possession of Marijuana.
