More OU Students Accused in "Hazing Death" Appear in Athens Court

(24/7 News) -- Three people appeared in an Athens, Ohio courtroom Wednesday and three more accused in connection with the death of Ohio University student Collin Wiant were expected to appear in court Thursday.

22-year-old Zachary Herskovitz, 20-year-old Cullen Willi McLaughlin, and 22-year-old Elijah Robert Wahib, were scheduled to appear at 3pm Thursday. James Wanke, Saxon Angell-Perez, and Dominic Figliola pleaded not guilty to charges, during a Wednesday appearance.

Nine people in all are accused of being involved in the hazing death of Wiant.

Herskovitz was charged with Permitting Drug Abuse, a felony of the fifth degree and Hazing, a misdemeanor of the fourth degree. McLaughlin was charged with two counts of Trafficking in L.S.D., felonies of the fifth degree.

Wahib was charged with Tampering with Evidence, a felony of the third degree, Permitting Drug Abuse, a felony of the fifth degree, Hazing, a misdemeanor of the fourth degree; Assault, a misdemeanor of the first degree, Obstructing Justice, a felony of the fifth degree, and Failure to Comply with Underage Alcohol Laws, an unspecified misdemeanor.
