Hillsboro Woman Arrested After High Speed Chase With Police

A Hillsboro woman has been arrested after leading local law enforcement on a high speed chase, starting at 1am Wednesday.

An Officer with the Hillsboro Police recognized a vehicle belonging to female that had an active warrant out for felonious assault.

The officer initiated a traffic stop on East Main Street in the 400 block. During the traffic stop the female driver provided the officer with false identification and admitted to having drug paraphernalia. While the officer was verifying the identity of the female, she fled the scene with the officer pursuing the vehicle.

The vehicle pursuit ended on Clear Creek Road near U.S. Route 50. The Highland County Sheriff’s Department and the Wilmington Ohio State Patrol assisted the Hillsboro Police in the apprehension of 24-year-old Kerstin Walker of Hillsboro. Walker was arrested for aggravated assault, fleeing and eluding a police officer, obstructing official business, and possession of marijuana.
