A Waverly man died in a single-vehicle crash near Sinking Spring Friday morning, reports the Highway Patrol.
75-year-old John W. Seymour was westbound in a 2021 Jeep Wrangler on State Route 124 near Dogwood Lane in Mifflin Township, Pike County, when he drove off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree about 9am.
He was transported from the scene by MedCare Squad #1 to Adena Pike Hospital with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased the hospital. The Highway Patrol says impairment is not suspected and the crash remains under investigation.
The Ohio State Patrol was assisted at the scene by Mifflin Township Fire Department, MedCare EMS, and the Pike County Sheriff’s Department.
