Indians Rally Falls Short at Goshen

.

A furious second half rally fell short for the visiting Hillsboro Indians as the Goshen Warriors garnered their 6th straight win 66-61.

.

The Warriors used some brilliant 3 point shooting (7 of 12 from long range) to grab a 37-27 lead at halftime. However, after trailing by as many as fourteen points in the second half, the Indians began their comeback by getting some solid defense and some rebound baskets to get to within 2 points (2 separate times).

.

However, Goshen simply made clutch plays down the stretch (including crucial free throws) to hold off the charging Indians.

.

HHS was led by Caleb Crawford and Ryan Scott, who each scored 13 points. Quintin Captain and Jakwon Clark were double figure scorers as well with 10 points to their credit.

.

The bottom line reason for the Warriors getting the win --- hitting 11 out of 27 three point shots (for a more-than-representative 40 %). Meanwhile, the Indians could only knock down 4 of 22 from deep (18 %).

.

HHS, now (6-7) on the season, will return to FAC action with a Friday trip to Jackson. The Warriors' Josh Hice, who led all scorers with 18 points, was named the WSRW "player of the game.
