Gallia Academy upsets Hillsboro in Boys D2 Sectional Final

The storybook season for the Hillsboro Indians had a less-than-happy ending Thursday night when the Gallia Academy Blue Devils upset the homestanding FAC Co-Champions 59-58 in the D2 Sectional Final. HHS, in a frantic fourth quarter, trailed by as many 8 points twice in the final frame. However, the Indians came back both times and had two chances at a potential game-winning shot. Unfortunately, Hillsboro was unable to convert and was ousted from the tournament by the lower-seeded Blue Devils.

HHS, who never held a lead in the entire game, was led in scoring by Quentin Captain with 19 points. Other top contributors were Lawton Parry with 16 and Ryan Scott with 10.

Because the Indians were a veteran-laden team, the group of 9 seniors was given the award of the "WSRW Players of the Game."

Coach Miles Burton, during his post-game comments, gave credit to each senior and spoke to how proud he was of each one of them. The Indians, with the loss, finish with an overall record of (18-4) that included a 14-game winning streak.
