Highland Radio-Telethon Surpasses $96,000 in Pledges

The 46th Annual Ernie Blankenship Radio-Telethon once again brought in tens-of-thousands of dollars in donations for the needy children and adults of Highland County.

The 2018 event held Wednesday evening at NCB Bank in Hillsboro, brought in a grand total of $96,896, counting both Hillsboro and Greenfield efforts. That total is expected to surpass 97,000 by the end of the week.

The largest donations in Hillsboro were as follows:

Cassner Foundation- $15,000

Merchants National Bank- $9,500 plus donation of two photos for auction which brought $650

Hillsboro Rotary Club- $6,000

Hillsboro Eagles Club- $5,000

VFW Post 9094- $5,000

US Bank- $3,000

NCB Bank- $2,500

People's Bank Foundation- $2,500

Weastec- $2,000

First State Bank- $1,500

Hillsboro City School Groups- $1,498.36

ITW- $1,000

Bob & Dorothy Hodson- $1,000

O'Dell Capital Management   $1,000

Big Ernie's Pizza- $750

Edward Jones Investing- $650

Fairfield Local Elementary- $571.81

Fifth Third Bank- $500

Herb Day and Rick Williams served as emcees for the broadcast on WSRW.  Over it's 46 years, the radio-telethon has raised approximately $4.55 million.
