Herb says Easter Seals got the ball rolling raising funds in the 1950's, but a big change was made in the late 1960's or early 70's.

Telethon co-host Herb Day says the annual event has special meaning for him and his family. His granddaughter, Emily Davis, will be the post-child for this year's event. Day's nephew Jim Garrett was the adult post-child several years ago and has since passed away.

Wednesday's event runs between 6:30pm-9pm at Merchants Bank in Hillsboro. Call in your bids and pledges for items being auctioned, during the telethon.
