Troopers Seize $21,500 of Suspected Heroin and THC Wax in Scioto County

A North Carolina man is facing a felony drug possession charge following a traffic stop along State Route 823 in Scioto County.

In a release issued by the Ohio State Highway Patrol on Thursday, the Patrol said a trooper with the agency’s Portsmouth Post conducted a traffic stop on a 1019 Toyota Corolla with Maryland registration for a marked lane violation and following too closely shortly before midnight on Tuesday, October 8th.

The driver, Dennis S. Corr Jr., 38, of Durham, NC, was found to be operating the vehicle without a valid driver’s license and admitted to possessing a small amount of marijuana inside the car. A subsequent probable cause search of the vehicle revealed 350 grams of THC wax, and 100 grams of suspected heroin. The Patrol says the contraband was valued at approximately $21,500.

Mr. Corr was arrested and charged with second-degree felony possession of heroin. If convicted, he could face up to eight years in prison with a fine of up to $15,000.
