Washington CH City Schools Honor Veterans

With Veteran’s Day fast-approaching the Washington City Schools will be hosting a few events around the area November 7th through Veterans Day.

The first grade classes at Cherry Hill are presenting their annual Veterans Day Program Thursday, with students performing some classic patriotic tunes.

Coming up Friday, the community is invited to join Belle Aire for an afternoon presentation on the history and importance of military traditions. That includes the topics of proper flag folding, and the Pledge of Allegiance. The student-led assembly will begin at 1:45 p.m.

On Veteran’s Day proper, Washington High School is inviting veterans, current service members and their families to take part in a free meal.

.

That’ll take place in the school’s gymnasium between 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. with the menu consisting of chicken and Salisbury Steak. They’ll also have a variety of side-dishes available as well as beverages and dessert.

Once the meal concludes at 12:30 p.m., the school will then present its annual Americanism Assembly inside Liberty Hall.
