Army Vet Walks Across America To Raise Awareness on Veteran Suicide

A U.S. Army veteran, walking across America is trying to raise awareness of veteran suicide, arrives in the south-central Ohio area today.

Jeremy Miller, of Boise, Idaho is a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 2007 to 2015 with one tour in Iraq, where he performed route clearance, which entails searching for explosive devices placed along side of Iraqi roadways.

When he finished is service in 2015, Jeremy said he went through he own ordeal with suicide. After working to conquer his negative thoughts, he decided to take up an effort to help returning vets deal with their own hardships related to the return to civilian life.

He'll be joining local Hillsboro firefighter's Wednesday night for an evening dinner, and if time allows, he may possibly speak at the local Hillsboro VFW Post 9094 later this evening.

.

Jeremy's journey will then take him into Ross County this Saturday night, where he will be speaking at the Chillicothe VFW Post 108. That'll be sometime around 5:30 p.m.

In addition to his walk, Jeremy is also working to establish an Idaho-based non-profit, Walk Across America Inc., to further help veterans battling suicidal thoughts. He's awaiting is 501c3 status.
