Less than twenty-four hours after absorbing a tough loss at Miami Trace (52-46), the Hillsboro Indians had the unenviable task of facing another squad with a winning record in Western Brown. A less-than-pleasant weekend continued as the visiting Broncos used a dominant second quarter to hand HHS a 69-60 loss.
.
The second quarter, which at times this season has almost been a curse, saw the Brown Countians outscore the Indians 23-5. It enabled the Broncos to have a comfortable lead at the intermission of 36-21 (a lead that turned out to be insurmountable).
.
To verify how poorly the hometown Indians played in stanza number two: Hillsboro went without a basket for 6:48. In the third period HHS whittled the deficit to 8 points....however, Western Brown responded with a run of their own to basically restore the lead to 14 points.
.
The Indians were led by Brad Miller and Lawton Parry who tied for team scoring honors at 14. Meanwhile, Zyon Tull, the WSRW "player of the game," notched a game-high 29 points for Western Brown.
.
Hillsboro will return to action next week with an encounter with the Unioto Shermans.
