Hillsboro Agrees To Assist Development Effort On West Main Street

Hillsboro City Council has approved an emergency ordinance to purchase three parcels on West Main Street. The city purchased 119 West Main Street, 117 West Main Street) and 115 West Main Street. One of the lots housed an empty building that collapsed last summer.

The three properties were cleared and now the city will transfer the three parcels to the Hillsboro Area Economic Development Corporation or the Community Improvement Corporation, which in turn will transfer the parcels to the Arven Group LLC pursuant to their purchase agreement with the city.

That area is expected to be developed soon. The three properties cost $72,000.
