A press release from the health department asked that the community "Please respect this family’s privacy as they mourn the loss of a loved one. No additional information about this patient will be made available at this time."

The Ohio Department of Health reported 1,300 new cases of COVID-19 in the state yesterday, representing a significant spike from the day before.

Part of the reason for the is this spike in Madison County, which had more than 100 new cases yesterday. Madison County Public Health Department says it is due to mass testing inmates at both Madison Correctional and London Correctional.

They say they have had 129 inmates test positive in the past two days. Madison Correctional has the most number of cases of any prison in the state.
