Sidewalk Project Proposed in Hillsboro

A sidewalk improvement project has been proposed to take place along U.S. 50/Main Street in the City of Hillsboro.

The Ohio Department of Transportation says the project will replace the existing sidewalks along Main Street from State Route 124 to Elm Street, and from East Street to Keys Street.

The project would include the addition of roughly 800-feet of new sidewalk on the north side of Main Street from Bell Street to Chillicothe Avenue, and nearly 750-feet of new sidewalk on the north side of Chillicothe Avenue from Main Street to Greystone Drive.

ODOT is seeking public comment on the proposed project, wanting to know how it would affect local residents within the project zone.

The project is currently expected to be awarded in July of 2021.

If you’d like to provide a comment, simply contact the ODOT District 9 Office in Chillicothe to find out how.
