Indians Rally To Beat Leesburg Fairfield

It's all about momentum. After winning four of the last five games (including a victory over defending FAC champion Chillicothe), the Hillsboro Indians took to the road Tuesday night and came away with a well-earned 55-51 overtime win over the Fairfield Lions.

FHS, employing an extremely patient offense on virtually every possession, kept the game close throughout the first half.

In fact, with a last second bucket at the end of the second period, they carried a 21-19 lead in to halftime.

However, with the Indians applying a stifling defense, HHS outscored the hometown Lions by a count of 17-4 to take a 36-25 lead at the end of the third quarter.

Fairfield, in a complete reversal of the previous stanza, held Hillsboro scoreless for 5:25 in the fourth (holding HHS to only 5 points while scoring 16) and in so doing tied the game at the end of regulation 41-41.

In the overtime the Indians came out and hit two quick three balls (by Lawton Parry and Ryan Scott) that gave them a lead they would never relinquish. Parry and Scott each poured in fifteen points to tie for game-high honors. While Hunter Price added ten points to the HHS cause.

For his crucial shooting from distance, Lawton Parry was named the WSRW 'player of the game." With the win, the Indians improved their overall mark to (7-2).

HHS will return to action this Friday with a home game against the Washington C H Blue Lions. The December encounter between the FAC schools resulted in a twenty-seven point win for the Indians.
