Friday's Ross Grand Jury: Slow to Pull Over, But at Least He Was Honest

The Ross County Grand Jury returned all 15 of their cases Friday, with one open:

According to the Ross County Prosecutor's Office, on August 13th a Highway Patrol trooper attempted to pull over a driver on US 35 for a marked lanes violation. The driver continued driving, committing more traffic violations...but eventually pulled over.

28-year-old Lowell D. Halfhill of Leesburg admitted that he had a drug needle in his car, as well as two firearms. The trooper located a 20-gage shotgun behind the driver's seat, and a semi-automatic pistol on the front floorboard, as well as 0.0901 grams of meth.

Because of a 2014 drug conviction in Gallia County for manufacturing drugs, he was indicted for two counts of having weapons under disability...as well as aggravated possession of drugs and failure to comply, though the last is a misdemeanor because he pulled over soon enough.

Halfhill could get up to 4 1/2 years and $13,500 in fines.
