Two men accused of abducting a woman, and fleeing from police in Pike County Friday, are in custody.
The Pike County Sheriff's office says they received a 9-1-1 call around 3pm, and listened until they heard a woman in the background yelling about being taken against her will. Officers responded to the area of the origin of the call, near Jasper Elementary School, and were flagged down by a witness who claimed he was assaulted by one of the suspects and described their vehicle.
Surrounding county law enforcement and the Highway Patrol were immediately notified. They encountered the SUV on Fog Road, but the driver did not stop. Stop sticks failed, but the driver turned onto dead-end Vance Road where the occupants were taken into custody. 23-year-old Meghan Doyle of Lucasville was found in the vehicle.
Driver 33-year-old Andrew Workman of Chillicothe was arrested on outstanding Pike County warrants for disobeying police and felony trafficking in methamphetamine, as well as assault in Ross County...with additional charges for felony fleeing and eluding.
Passenger 21-year-old Jerry Parsons II of Waverly had a Ross County warrant for assault...and now has misdemeanor assault and felony abduction.
The Pike County Sheriff's office says this case will be presented to the Pike County Prosecutor Mike Davis for further recommendation of charges and grand jury indictments. Sheriff Evans thanks the Ohio State Patrol, Waverly Police Department, and the Piketon Police Department for their joining apprehension efforts.
