Ross County Special Olympics Hosts First Track & Field Invitational

The inaugural Ross County Special Olympics Invitational took place this past weekend at the Ross County Pioneer school.

Thirty-two athletes were in attendance at Saturday’s invitational with athletes competing in events such as softball throwing, a 50-meter wheelchair race, a 200-meter dash, and a 4x100-meter relay.

Ross County Special Olympics athletes will be heading to the State Summer Games next month, from Friday, June 23rd to Sunday, June 25th where they’ll compete in events such as Track and Field, Bowling, and Powerlifting. Most of the competitions will take place that weekend at Ohio State University’s Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
