The radiothon, held at Highland County Society for Children and Adults headquarters in Hillsboro will feature live music, inspiring stories, and interviews with beneficiaries who shared how the Society's assistance has made a difference in their lives.

The radiothon not only showcases the community's generosity but also highlights the Society's mission of "Local People Helping Local People.

This event was founded by the legendary Ernie Blankenship, who served as an announcer at WSRW. He was affectionately referred to as "the sports voice" in southern Ohio, having broadcast high school sports for nearly 50 years and covered over 3,400 games.

Beyond the microphone, Ernie was deeply involved in community service. Over the years his radiothon raised significant dollars for the Highland County Society for Children and Adults. Ernie's dedication to both sports and community service has made him a beloved figure in the region. His contributions have had a lasting impact on many lives. Ernie passed away in 2013, but his legacy continues at WSRW.
